Peter Hughes
Chartered Accountant
About The Practice
Peter Hughes qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 with Malthouse & Company, a practice in Liverpool City Centre. He moved on in 1999 to work in property management and started his own practice in January 2004.
Peter has expert technical knowledge in the areas of financial reporting, taxation, company law and employment law. He regularly writes and presents public seminars for UK Training (Worldwide) Ltd, his work taking him to most large British cities including London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Reading and Glasgow, as well as other European cities. He is able to offer technical advice in these areas to clients and has in the last year helped an AIM-listed company to implement International Financial Reporting Standards. He has also recently acted for a not-for-profit company in overturning a VAT assessment of approximately £120,000.
Peter also provides accountancy and general business advice services and has a particular interest in helping start-up businesses to grow. He has a track record of compiling business plans which successfully obtain funding by way of loan and grant. He believes in the importance of budgeting and careful tracking of performance against forecasts.
He carries out all the work himself and is therefore able to provide service of the highest quality at prices which are competitive.
Away from work, Peter is an active church bellringer and has a keen interest in hillwalking and cricket.
